General - A crowded marina set at the head of a beautiful wide bay. The water is on the shallow side and attention must be paid to the depth when approaching and entering the marina. Winds from the NE - SE can make entry difficult and sometimes dangerous Position - 39º 54.4' N 3º 05.2' E Charts - British Admiralty 1703 Spanish 965, 3841, 3842 French 5501, 5505 Approach & Entrance - From the N and W round Cabo Formentor, with its vertical cliffs and white lighthouse on top. Follow the coast in a SW direction and leave Punta de la Avanzada with its white lighthouse on top 200m to port. Steer WNW and the marina will be seen in the closer approach. From the SE cross the Bahia de Alcudia towards Cabo del Pinar. Cabo Formentor can be seen in the background with its white lighthouse on top. Round Cabo del Pinar and make a W course. Leave Punta de la Avanzada with its white lighthouse on top 200m to port. Steer WNW and the marina will be seen in the closer approach.
