General - Porto Cristo Marina lies in a harbour that it shares with local fishing boats. The approach is not difficult but entry to Porto Cristo Marina could be difficult or dangerous in a gale from NE - SE. Keep a good look out for swimmers in the approach and entrance. Strong currents may be experienced from the river following periods of heavy rain. Some laid mooring lines extend to mid channel from the quay.

Approach & Entrance - From the S it is easy to identify at Porto Cristo a conspicuous tower and lighthouse with white and black stripes and a black X topmark. From the N cross the Bahia de Arta and round Punta de Amer. It is easy to identify at Porto Cristo a conspicuous tower and lighthouse with white and black stripes and a black X topmark. To enter Porto Cristo approach from a position due E of the lighthouse and enter on a NW course. Turn to the N to leave the mile to port at 20m and proceed on a SW course.

Shopping - There is good shopping in the town of Porto Cristo with a supermarket and market.

Eating Out - Numerous restaurants, bars and cafes both around Porto Cristo Marina and in the town itself.

Local Area - Good beach in the NE of the harbour but it gets very crowded in the summer months. The famous Cuevas de Drach and Hams are a must visit. There is a good wildlife park. Climb the tower for a good view of the coast.
