Approach & Entrance;
From the south - The coast of the Bahia de Roses is low, flat and sandy. Near Roses it becomes high, broken rocky cliffs with many calas. Punta de la Creu can be recognised by its off lying island. The town of Cadeques with a church spire will be seen at the head of the bay.
From the north -
Cabo Creus with its lighthouse, two smaller towers and off lying islands is easy to identify. The Illa Messina just to the N of Puerto de Cadaques is conspicuous, it can be passed on either side.
To enter -
Follow the centre line of the bay on a NW course leaving the beacon on El Pilo 200m to starboard. In a Tramontana yacht need to make 1 mile to windward before the harbour is reached.

Anchorages - There are a number around the head of the bay and yachts should anchor to suit the wind conditions. Also Cala Conca in the W of the bay and Playa del Ros in the E. The bottom is sand, mud and weed with the odd patch of rock. Use of a trip line is advised.

Landings - On the sandy beach in front of the town. Or to the E in Playa del Ros

Local Area - There are a number of sandy beaches at the head of the cala. The 17th century church of Santa Maria is rare in that it survived the various revolutions, wars and invasions unscathed. A short walk takes you to Lligat, the summer home of the famous artist Salvador Dali.
