General - Puerto de Colera is a small fishing and yachting harbour lying on the Costa Brave in NE Spain. Good protection can be found but a strong NW Tramontana sends chop into the harbour. Position - 42º 24' N 3º 09' E Charts - British Admiralty 1705 French 7008, 7505 Spanish 876, 493 Approach & Entrance; From the south - Leave the Bahia de Selva and follow the coast at 500m. The following can be identified; Punta Sernella with its lighthouse, Puerto de Llanca, Punta del Castella, Cabo Rose and Cabo Lladro. Cala Colera lies to its N and Puerto de Colera remains hidden until mid cala is reached. From the north - Port de Cerbere, Cap Cerbere with a small white building on its top and the Cala de Portbou are easily recognised. Cala Colera is the next cala to the S and Puerto de Colera will be seen in the close approach. To enter - Approach the head of the cala on a W course. When the harbour bears S turn towards the head of the breakwater leaving it to port at 15m Berths - Secure to the inner side of the contradique and report to the port captain.
