General - Port Ginesta, also known as Puerto de Castelldefels, is a large marina lying on the Costa Dorada on the E coast of Spain. It is easy to enter and offers good protection.

Position - 41º 15' N 1º 55' E

Approach & Entrance;
From the south - Puerto de Sitges is readily identified. The harbour and cement works at Vallcarca are conspicuous. The large marina of Puerto de Garraf will be seen and Port Ginesta lies a further 2 miles to the NE at the end of the coastal cliffs.
From the north -
Barcelona is easily identified by the mass of buildings. The flat and featureless delta of Rio Llobregat is followed by the hills of the Sierra de la Guardia. Port Ginesta lies at the start of the range of hills.
To enter -
The entrance is prone to silting and yachts should sound carefully on entry. Stay close to the S breakwater.

Berths - Secure to the fuel berth and ask at the Torre de Control. Yachts are encouraged to book ahead by phone or VHF.
