Puerto de Sant Feliu de Guixols, Girona, Catalunya, Spain

General - Puerto de Sant Feliu de Guixols is a commercial, fishing and yachting harbour on the Costa Brava on the NE coast of Spain. Swell comes into the harbour with winds from the E - S.

Position - 41º 46' N 3º 01' E

Approach & Entrance;
From the south - Cabo Tossa can be identified by its lighthouse and castle with tower. Punta de Garbi with the Ermita de Sat Elm is prominent. Round this point at 200m plus and the harbour entrance will be seen.
From the north - From the Bahia de Palamos, recognised by its harbour, the rugged coast is broken by the wide sandy Bahia de Platja d'Aro and the almost square shaped Cala de Sant Pol. Punta de Garbi is prominent. This section of coast has shoals extending out and yachts should stand off at least 0.5 mile.
To enter - There are leading marks, two sets of round white discs with black diagonal stripes on top of white mast with black bands, these are in the trees in front of the town. Enter the harbour on a course of 343ºT leaving the head of the breakwater 100m to starboard. When clear of the head turn onto a NE course.

Berths - Go bow to the inner side of the breakwater with a stern line to a mooring buoy. The outside half of the breakwater belongs to the Club Nautico

Local Area - Both the town of Sant Feliu de Guixols and the surrounding area are attractive. There is a museum in the old monastery. 14th century church. Good view from the Ermita de Santa Elm. Good beaches either side of the harbour but those to the NW get very crowded in the summer.
