Approach and Entrance - From the Pacific Ocean head for the Chetco River. Good protection from northerly weather, but entry is not recommended during southerly blows. Bar reports are broadcast during daylight hours on KURY (910kHz). Port of Brookings Harbor lies, lies in Chetco Cove, on the south bank of the river. An overhead cable with a clearance of 46 feet lies 0.6 mile above the jetties and beyond the entrance to the basins.
